Text Message Program

Last updated: October 20, 2026.

This page describes the text messages Vetware sends on behalf of veterinary practices, how consent to receive them is obtained, and how to stop receiving them.

Who Sends These Messages

Vetware operates software used by veterinary practices. When you receive a text message through our platform, it is sent at the direction of the veterinary practice you visited, and that practice is named at the start of every message. Vetware is the technology provider; the practice is the party you have a relationship with and the party that holds your consent.

We do not send marketing messages, we do not message on our own behalf, and we do not sell or rent phone numbers. See our Privacy Policy for how information is handled.

What Is Sent

Post-visit survey invitation (VetReviews). After an appointment, the practice may send a single message inviting you to answer a short survey about the visit. The message names the practice and contains a link to the survey. A message in this program looks like this:

Thank you for visiting Mountain View Animal Hospital. Let us know how we did https://insights.vet/Example1

That link is a permanent example and is safe to follow: it shows the survey a client sees and records nothing. A real link carries a single-use token and expires with the visit, which is why the example is a fixed page rather than a live survey.

That is the only message this program sends. Everything else, including the survey itself and anything you are asked at the end of it, happens on the web page the link opens. We do not follow up by text, and answering the survey does not enroll you in anything.

Message Frequency

One message per completed visit. Frequency therefore depends on how often you visit the practice, and most clients receive a handful of messages a year at most. Two visits on the same day produce one message.

How Consent Is Obtained

Consent is collected by the veterinary practice, not by Vetware. A practice obtains it in the course of its own client intake: on the paper or electronic intake form you complete as a client, or in the client agreement you sign, where you provide a mobile number and agree to be contacted at it by text.

The record of that consent is held in the practice's own practice management system. Before any message is sent, our platform checks the contact preferences on your record in that system, and sends nothing if the record does not affirmatively permit text messages or if the preference cannot be determined.

Practices using this program are required by their agreement with Vetware to obtain consent before a number is eligible to be messaged, and to use consent language consistent with the sample below.

Sample Opt-In Language

This is the language practices use on their intake and checkout forms to obtain consent for this program:

I agree that [Practice Name] may send me text messages about my visits, including a short survey after an appointment. Message frequency varies, typically one message per visit. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help. Consent is not a condition of any purchase or of receiving veterinary care.

Agreeing is optional. A practice may not refuse care or condition any purchase on it, and declining has no effect on the service you receive.

How to Stop Receiving Messages

Reply STOP to any message. You will receive one confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing after that. We also honor UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, OPTOUT and REVOKE.

Because this program sends a single message per visit and expects no reply, we keep the message itself short and do not spend its length on instructions. Instead, any reply we do not recognize is answered automatically with the name of the practice that contacted you and how to stop. Replying HELP returns the same thing at any time. You do not need to know a keyword to get out: write to us in your own words and you will be told exactly how, and you can also ask the practice to remove text messaging from your client record.

Opting out applies to the phone number, so it covers every practice that uses the Vetware platform, not only the one that messaged you. You can also ask your practice directly to remove text messaging from your client record, which stops messages at the source.

Reply HELP to any message to receive the sending practice's identity and contact information.

Cost

Vetware and the practice do not charge you for these messages. Message and data rates may apply depending on your mobile plan and carrier.

Delivery

Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages. Delivery depends on your carrier and your handset, and neither we nor the practice can guarantee that a given message arrives.

Supported carriers include the major United States mobile carriers. This program sends to United States mobile numbers only.

For Practices

If your practice uses or is evaluating this program: you are the sender of record and the holder of your clients' consent. Your agreement with us requires that you obtain consent before a number is messaged, use consent language consistent with the sample above, keep the record of that consent available, and respond to client requests about it. We reserve the right to suspend messaging for a practice that does not.

Contact support@vetware.io for the current language to add to your intake forms.

Changes to This Page

We may update this page as the program changes. Any changes will be posted here with an updated revision date.
