About the size of a label printer
It's a small countertop diode laser, roughly the footprint of a label printer. Plug it into power and WiFi and you're done.
Setup takes a few minutes, and we're on the phone with you for it. No installer visit, no plumbing, no special outlet.

Common questions
Is there a contract?
No. The plan renews month-to-month and you can cancel anytime from the in-app account page.
What if I need more than 5 projects in a month?
Extra projects are billed at $8.25 each, invoiced at the end of your monthly cycle. There's nothing to upgrade or manage. Your first month includes 8 projects to help you get started.
What's the $300 setup fee for?
It's your onboarding: live one-on-one training for your staff, enrollment in phone and email support, and account setup, configuration, and provisioning. We also provide one of our engravers and a set of starting materials complimentary, plus extra credits for month one, so most clinics earn the $300 back before the first month is out.
Do I need an engraver at all?
No. With the no-hardware plan there's no engraver and no subscription: snap a photo in the app and we engrave the keepsake and ship it to your clinic. Your first one is free, then it's $30 per keepsake — the easiest way to try Keepsake before moving to the monthly plan.
Can I bring my own engraver?
Yes. Your monthly price is the same whether you use one of our engravers or bring your own — the $50 is for the software, not the hardware. Today we support the AtomStack P1; future releases may add more engravers.
Who owns the engraver?
We do — the engraver stays Vetware's property. We provide it to you at no charge while you're a Keepsake subscriber, so you never pay for hardware, and you never have to worry about maintenance or replacement: if anything ever goes wrong with the unit, we handle it. It's our equipment, built to run Keepsake. If you ever cancel, just reach out and we'll arrange to collect it.
What does one keepsake actually cost me?
$8.25 for the project plus the material, whichever you're using (typically between $0.10 and $1). Our goal is to keep your total COGS at around $10.
What should I charge the client?
$50 is what we charge at our hospital and what we recommend. Some clinics charge more, some less, it's completely up to you. Our pricing is built so you get a 5x markup, which makes the ROI fantastic.
Does the device get better over time?
Yes. Your subscription includes software updates, covering security fixes and entirely new ways to use the engraver. We're always working on new ways to help you drive more revenue. We're currently testing custom stickers and dog tags, and we put everything through thorough in-house testing before we release it, so what reaches your clinic is ready to run.
Do you monitor my jobs?
Yes. We monitor every job and proactively reach out when we see a potential concern, so issues get handled before they slow you down.
What kind of support is included?
Email support is included every month, plus 30 days of phone support after setup. Most clinics find they rarely need us once they're up and running.
